Disassembly of the battery housing involves separating the silver aluminum cover from the black magnesium alloy housing. The cover is held in place via locking clasps on the sides, and should come free with gentle prying using a flat tool like those common in basic electronics repair toolkits. The battery will be held in place with a small amount of adhesive tape and should pull free from the housing with a bit of force. Dispose of the old spicy pillow in accordance with local e-waste laws.

For the replacement battery cell, any Lithium Polymer 3.7v battery >3000mAh should work, as long as it fits the internal dimensions of the housing. The OEM battery is 118mm x 78mm x 5mm approximately.

I had good luck with the Cameron Sino CS-PNR009SL cell and found it on Amazon (last checked and was available as of May 2022) here: https://www.amazon.com/Replacement-Came ... B07MTX5PHG

I've also used a generic cell from Aliexpress found here, although this definitely didn't seem to have the advertised capacity of 4500mAh: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003 ... 1802kBTKDX

Once the housing is disassembled and the old battery removed, you will need to snip off the charging circuit from the OEM battery (two silver tabs) and then desolder those tabs from the pads on the bottom of the charging circuit and clean the pads accordingly to prep for new solder.

Remove any labels or Kapton tape from the new battery to expose its built in charging circuit. I de-soldered the wiring from the new battery charging circuit and soldered a small piece of wire each between the (+) and (-) pads on the OQO charging circuit and the corresponding (+) and (-) pads on the battery charging circuit.

Once that was done I wrapped all exposed contacts in Kapton tape to protect them, and installed the charging circuit and battery into the housing using a small piece of 3M VHB double sided adhesive. When re-assembling the battery mind the small plastic piece that goes around the connector to ensure that you don't forget to reinstall it.
